Here’s the deal. No sugarcoating it.

I have been blessed with a passion: Free, high-quality streaming of the latest and greatest in TV Shows, Movies, and Live TV – all in one app! Comcast, Paramount, and the rest have screwed the public for many years now as content is fractured across many platforms and loaded with commercials and ads. Even the higher paid tiers now have ads you just can’t avoid. Through this passion I’ve managed to build and keep a Media Streaming Server running for 16 years, all without having to charge for the service or ask for donations in return. Truth is, I will fight to keep this thing going for as long as I possibly can. It’s selfish really; the joy I get from knowing my family and friends get to share in the benefits of this passion project is enough to set my heart ablaze. That joy alone fuels the Emby Server flames higher than any monetary reward.

BUT (and it’s a big butt), ya boy ZMONEY has been hit hard by the relentless wave of life this year (ok, maybe the last 2 years, but who’s counting!). For those of you who know me well, you’ll know just how hard I’ve fought to resist taking donations and charging for services over the last decade and a half. But desperate times call for humbling measures, so I must swallow my pride and admit: this fundraiser is not just about hardware costs and service fees, it’s about keeping the ZMONEY TV Legacy alive and well for many more years to come.

Some stats for the curious….Current Costs
Server Hardware Costs to Date:$12,750
Ongoing Costs to Support Streaming, Ensure Privacy, and Procure Content:$3,000/year (approx $30,000 over last 10 years)
Live TV Backend IPTV Source:$250/year
Hours Required to Maintain Server, Procure Content, and Provide Customer Support:360 hours/year
Upgrades Needed….Future needs
Storage Expansion (additional 60TB):$1,300-$1,500
GPU Upgrades to Improve Performance:$750-$1,500
Backup for Full Content Library:$2,500-$3,500

Speaking candidly, the last two years have been incredibly difficult for me personally. Many of you likely remember ZTV going offline last year for over 4 months while I fought through my challenges. Sadly, now I am dangerously close to another long shutdown. The good news is the problem is simply a lack of funding, and that is a problem we can tackle together! So I’m turning to you, the amazing ZTV community, for immediate help.

It’s the Veteran’s Day Weekend “Save Emby from Shutdown Fundraiser Event” with a lofty goal of $10,000 over the next 96 hours to ensure the ZMONEY TV legacy persists and continues to grow for many years to come. And, because I can’t stand asking for something without giving something in return:

– The top donor will get a custom 10-15 second video saying whatever they want it to say, which will run before a movie is played every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the entire month of December. Just submit your idea and I’ll take care of the rest (with your final approval, of course)

– The top 5 donors will have their names (or handles) prominently displayed on a Thank You video card which will play before any movie is played for the entire month of December.

– All donors will have their names (or handles) listed on the Thank You video card which will play before any movie is played for the entire month of December.

ZTV Community Site enhancements! As you may have read on the ZTV Community Home Page homepage, we have big plans to support this community! Request forms that feed directly into the procurement server for automatic adds, message board forums for support and discussions, server status monitors, weekly blog and video posts from ZMONEY with thoughts on the latest in TV and Movie entertainment, and so much more!

So, if you’ve found value in the ZMONEY TV service, or if your spirit is calling you to help, or if you just love spending your money on super awesome shit, click Donate and let’s keep this party going forever! Seriously though, your support means more to me than you could ever imagine, no matter how big or small. My dedication to the ZTV community has never been stronger than it is right now, and I’m overjoyed to be sharing it all with you, my dearest friends, family… and a few dope-ass strangers 😉

Thank you, and may God bless you abundantly for your love and generosity.

P.S. There will be other ways to support the ZMONEY TV effort in addition to donations as the community grows; opportunities for forum moderators, library content managers, and web admins will be posted in the coming months. For now, securing funding is the only priority.
